Ground-Breaking Music You Have To Listen To When You’re Alone In The PG

To enjoy certain music and comprehend its genius, you need to be all by yourself (no, music is not a code word for anything else). So when you are all alone in your PG room, make sure to give these incredible songs a chance :

Bohemian Rhapsody – Queen

Mercury’s Bohemian Rhapsody is a song that refuses to age. It’s been over three decades and yet its appeal hasn’t waned a smidge. The song starts all mellow but eventually breaks into a rock ballad that  could bring the dead back to life. It’s so effing catchy that you can’t help but sing along even if you sound like someone’s dropped a bowling ball on your precious.

Lose Yourself – Eminem

The world is ruthless. It doesn’t care what a good guy/girl you are, it will simply beat you down because it can. And boy does Mathers put that message across and how. The beat’s ill and hard hitting, lyrics gritty and gut wrenching. By the end of the rap song you will feel invincible and ready to take on the world.

Immigrant Song – Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin

Bow your heads puny mortals for we speak of the ‘Gods of Rock’. With an arsenal of earth shattering anthems, Led Zeppelin’s fame has stood the test of time. Since most of their songs have been in the spotlight, let’s throw some light on  the one that has been flying under the radar – ‘Immigrant Song’. The song is packed with raw energy. Just listening to it makes you want to rip your clothes off and go, “FOR SPARTAAAAAAAAAA!!!!,” while your fellow bus passengers look at you in disgust.

Thinkin Bout You – Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean

Ocean‘s ‘Thinkin bout you’ is so darn good it will have you missing your girlfriend even if you don’t have one. There is a layer of pathos that will cling on to you long after you are done listening to it. The song won’t leave you feeling sad, no, instead it will fill you with hope.

Comfortably Numb – Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd

Lay down, close your eyes, and play the song. As the music rolls on, a sweet pain will overpower you. You’ll feel like you are floating in the air and then the guitar solo will hit you like gravity and believe me gravity never felt that good. Has there been a song so effortlessly put together? I don’t think so.

Midnight City – M83

Synthpop never sounded this good. The song is a cocktail of 80’s synth vibe and new wave music. It’s fast paced accompanied with loads of heavy beats that will have you tapping your feet. ‘Midnight City‘ is the kind of song that reminds you that you still have your wings, just that you need to use them more often.

What You Know – Two Door Cinema Club

Two Door Cinema Club

It’s everything you want from a new age rock band: good songs, good lyrics and a redhead for a front man. ‘What you know’ is an indie-rock song by the Irish band Two Door Cinema Club. Their music is usually upbeat and floods the senses, which is a good thing btw. This particular song is psychedelic. It’s a fun roller-coaster ride that you wish could last a little longer. Chances are by the time you are done with this song, you will be browsing through their playlist.

These songs are so amazing that they  will blow your mind away no matter where you stay, be it a PG in Bangalore or a PG in Pune.
